Changes to my study programme

Hi guys, this will be my last blog 😊, I want to tell you about my career and what things I would change about it.

Although I have only been studying my career for 3 years, I have noticed many things that I would like to change.

For example, the academic curriculum is sometimes very inflexible in the case of failing some subjects which are not important for higher level subjects, so, if you fail a subject, you can often fall behind even up to a year in getting out of the career.

I also feel that the academic load is poorly distributed, since some semesters can become even "relaxed", but the next one it may be very difficult to keep all the subjects with a good performance (as in the case now ☹).

Regarding the faculty facilities, the truth is that, throughout these three years, many improvements have been made to the infrastructure, even a new building was inaugurated (I have not had the opportunity to know it because of the pandemic), which I consider wonderful, however, I would like the laboratories used in the first two years of career to improve a little, since their facilities may be a little old even.

Although my career can be considered traditional for the years that it has been taught in this country, the use of technologies has always gone hand in hand with the development of the career, that is why I feel that in this aspect, chemistry and pharmacy makes good use of technologies.

Time travel to the future

 

Particularly, I have never thought about this situation, I am not a person who thinks much about the future beyond the goals I set for myself.

However, I think that if I had to travel to the future, I would travel to the year 2100 in Chile, basically because I would like to see how much things have changed in 78 years, I would like to visit the place where I live, where I studied in high school, and where I study now. I would also like to know what is the political direction that this country has taken after the Constituent process it is going through.

On the other hand, I would like to know how much science has advanced in all these years, if it was possible to create a perfect artificial intelligence, with self-awareness and if there are new medical methods that allow to increase the quality of life of people. I would also like to know whether the problem of climate change has been solved (if I am honest, I think that even in that year, it will not have been completely solved).

Another thing that I find interesting to see in the future, is how the trends in fashion and music will be in the population, if I had to guess, I think that Asian culture will permeate a lot in the Western world (in fact it is already doing so).

My Future Job

 

The job I would like to have in the future is that of technical director of a pharmaceutical laboratory.

I imagine it to be quite a difficult job, as it takes a lot of skills to run a laboratory where drugs are made and analyzed.

I wouldn't mind working in an office, after all, I would be the lab manager, however, I would also like to participate in the production processes that take place within the lab.

I like to travel, see new places, and I hope that with this job I will be able to do that, as I will probably have to do a lot of business travel.

I am thinking of taking elective courses in pharmaceutical technology and clinical pharmacy, as both seem very interesting to me. Clinical pharmacy directly relates pharmaceutical sciences to the work of medicine in the population, so I feel that I could contribute a lot to the medical community.

And on the other hand, pharmaceutical technology is extremely interesting to me, since it makes use of many branches of science, such as physical chemistry, solid chemistry, pharmacochemistry and physiology, so I feel that I would learn many things that would be useful to me as a technical director of a laboratory.

Childhood series

The truth is that I have few memories of my childhood, I think the first time there was a TV at home was when I was 4 years old, at that time I could only watch national channels since we didn't have cable TV, at that time they only showed animated series in the morning on national channels, so I had to get up early to be able to watch at least one of these series.

It wasn't until I was 6 years old, if I remember well, that my house contracted cable TV, at that moment the doors to heaven were opened to me jeje, because there were a lot of channels with cartoons such as "Cartoon Network", "Nickelodeon", the legendary "Jetix", etc.

I remember some series that I liked a lot, for example "Dexter's Laboratory", I liked to see Dexter always doing experiments while Diddy bothered him. 

But undoubtedly the series that I remember with more affection and emotion, is "Ben 10", I liked it a lot because they released seasons where the main character "Ben" grew up (at the same time I did too), I think I saw his 3 complete seasons.

My Pet

 

Hey guys, how are you doing?

Today I’m gonna tell you about my pet, a female cat, her name is Nefertiti.

Nefertiti arrived to my house in May 2020, she arrived with her tail very injured, so it was necessary to operate on her, the veterinarian told us that is was a tumor, so technically we saved her from dying. After all that, we decided to adopt it.

Nefertiti is two years old, is a black cat, without a tail, and with yellow eyes, is a large cat for her age, weighs about 5.5 kilos, she looks like a miniature panther xd.

Nefertiti is very important to me, as this year I have has a pretty bad time, and she always accompanies me when I’m sad, some time he hunts birds from the roof and takes them to my room, always brings them alive and play with the poor little birds, luckily, we always rescue them before they die with my brother.

She also reminds me of a very special person for me who is no longer in my life, I love her very much.

The Best Holidays

 

Hi guys, it’s me again, today I’m gonna tell you about the best vacation I have ever had.

These were in 2018, a full week in Fortaleza, Brazil. I went with my brother, my mom, and my uncles. Those seven days were amazing, it was the first-time leaving Chile, so I was a little nervous about the plane ride.

During those days, we did a lot of activities, I remember that we stayed at the Hotel with the highest Slide in Latin America, called “Insano”, unfortunately, that moth was under maintenance
☹. Other activities that we carry out those days, was to visit the dunes a beaches to “Ceara”, it was the first time I met the Atlantic Ocean, in that area of Brazil the water of the Beach is crystal clear and warm, so it was wonderful to bathe.

We also got to know the city of Fortaleza, full of leafy trees and insects, as it if were a jungle. The food in that place was just wonderful, a lot of tropical flavors. It was definitely a very nice holiday with my family.

A country I would like to visit

 

Hi guys, how it’s going?

Today I’m going to tell you about the country I would like to visit, and this country is Japan, “The country of the rising sun”.

Japan is in East Asia, and has a population of 126 million people, has an area of 377 km², and its population density is 344 inhabitants per km².

I would love to visit Japan for many reasons, one of them is its gastronomy, those huge fish and crabs look very delicious and hard to catch xd. Another reason why I want to visit this country, are its beautiful landscapes, such as Mount Fuji or Tokyo for example.

I’ve been a fan of JDM culture since I was a kid, mainly because the “Need for Speed” game series, so I’d love to go one night to the famous Daikoku, a parking area where sports car lovers gather to show their creations.

If I had to live in Japan, I would  definitely work as a research scientist.
